Week five discussion

To find out just how to approach the audience situation in Breemer case 4 it would be helpful to follow the guidelines in Barker 5. Through analyzing the situation and emails given in light of Barker 5 it may be possible to solve the audience challenge. The most helpful way would be to formally interview some possible audience members which is not possible in our situation. We may still be able to use some of Barker's suggestions for analyzing audience because the type of townspeople attending are listed so you may be able to analyze professional behaviors. The emails and letters may provide a good background element to identify the goals of the project.

The review in Kairos commented on the organization of Barker and how it was very useful and helpful in learning software documentation. Breemer case 8 also emphasizes how the organization or design of a document is very important to maintain usefulness. Since design is important, the Kairos review design would be lacking in that area. In order to attain good design, it would have helped to narrow ideas down to simple sentences and organize them in a more structured way, such as using bullet lists to show relationships between ideas.
